27th March 11 - Coaches View

A really tough game today, the key thing was that you kept going right to the end.

- Positives

* Once we settled into the game we competed without conceding lots of chances
* Everyone worked hard, nobody gave up.

- Learning Points

* We conceded some really basic goals today, most of which we will discuss in training and cut out going forward.
* We have got to be tighter in our marking, especially in midfield and work as a unit, not individuals.

Coaches Player of the match - Brad - an excellent display at Centre Back.

27th March 2011 - Home to Croft

Well done to the boys today.

Next Season

As we approach the end of the season I wanted to let you know that Ian and I intend to carry on running the team next season.

In order to plan for next season could you please let me know as soon as possible if the boys intend to carry on playing for Wanborough.

27th March v Croft

We are playing at Hoopers, meet at 13.20 (sharp to allow Ian and I to do the team talk and full set of stretches / warm up) for 14.00 kick off.

The squad members missing this game are Avi, James, Jack and Marcus.

A couple of volunteers to come down at 13.00 to help set up the nets etc would be appreciated.

Training

Will be on Saturday from 11.00 to 12.00 at Hoopers.

Wanborough Tidy Up

Please see below note from Club Secretary, Jon Raymond, if anyone from our age group could help out this would really be appreciated.

Each year there is a village clean-up in Wanborough, which includes some tidying up at Hooper's Field; normally involving some rubbish collection and re-spreading the stones on the driveway.  This year it is on 2 April, starting at 9.30am.

Hooper's Field is a valuable village asset and the Club is fortunate to be able to benefit from its facilities at a reduced rate.  As the U16 team is one of the users, it would be good if as many of the players (and their families) as possible, especially those from outside the village, could give a hand for a few minutes on the day.

Thanks

Rob

20th March 2011 - Coaches View

Today was a tough battle where we needed to compete for every ball, you did this surperbly.

Positives

- We batteld throughout and showed the required level of desire to win the match.
- Organisation improved as we went through the game.
- It wasn't a game where lots of passes where made but we still created several good scoring chances.

Learning Points

- When marking from corners everyone must take responsibility to mark and keep with the player until the ball is cleared.
- Don't just let somebody run across the pitch without ensuring they are marked.

Well done to all the squad today, because of the exceptional performance we didn't give out the coaches award, instead
the reward for the performace will be another event at the Futsal Centre at the end of the season.

Remaining fixtures for the season

I would be grateful if you could let me know if any of the boys are not available for these games, I know some of the boys will be on school trips which clash with some of these fixtures.

Thanks for all your good wishes, I have now received the clearance to start some light exercise and have returned to work on phased basis, things are looking positive for a full recovery.
