26th April 09 - Coaches View

To put in a performance like today's against a team who thrashed us only a month ago was a really good achievement.

Postives

- Some well worked goals, they all resulted from passing movements.
- We defended very well, particuarly in the 2nd half
- The overall calling and encouragement among the team was good.
- Some good saves by Jonny, especially from corners

Learning Points

- We discussed before the game how to play but were still caught off side too many times
- When there is a scramble in our goalmouth don't turn your back on the ball, block the shot and clear the ball.

Captains Award - Avi - excellent performance as sweeper against a very good striker.
Coaches Award - Ryan - Defended very well and also communicated very well with the rest of the defence.

21st April 09 - Coaches View

An excellent performance, although we lost the game I enjoyed your performance more than any game we have won this season.

Positives

- Everyone played a big part for the team
- We tried to play a good passing game
- Defence came out quickly to play the offside
- We were only caught off side a couple of times

Learning Points

- We played too narrow, in order to stretch the other teams defence we need to use the whole width of the pitch
- Everyone needs to keep to their position, it only needs one player to go out of position to weaken the team

Captains Player of the match - James, great tackling, control of the ball and positional play, when he won the ball James passed it  very well.

Coaches Player of the match - Bradley who led the forward line very well, used the ball with intelligence passing to the midfield and showed exceptional control of the ball throughout the game.

Subject: Wanborough Wasps: Parents' Award and AGM & Fun Day Registration reminder

Team Managers,
Please forward this email on to all your parents.
Please would you also reply to confirm that you have received the email.
Cheers.  Dan

It's almost time for the AGM & FUN DAY!

The date for your diary is: 16 May from 2pm - 6pm at the Primary School.  Thanks to all of you that have already registered to come, to help out and to eat!

Parents' Award
As in previous years we would like your Parents Award vote for the player that you feel is most deserving in your team.  Your vote need not be for the player who gives the best performances, but could be the one who always tries their hardest, the one who always gives lots of positive encouragement or who deserves special recognition for any other reason.

On the attached form, please would you fill in the name of the player that you feel most deserves this award, together with the reason why you have made that choice and let your Team Manager have it back by 4th May at the latest.
Alternatively, please email your vote to your Team Manager, but remember to say who you're voting for and why!

Please don't forget to register!

If you haven't yet registered, please would you do so as soon as possible and by 26th April at the latest.  The link to the online registration process is below.

Thanks again for all of those of you that have registered to help to organise and on the day itself.  It really does help to make the day run smoothly.  We'll be in touch soon.
