20th December - U14's v Kingshill - Game off

Just to confirm that our game v Kingshill is off due to the poor condition of the pitch.

I have also called off Mondays training session, the weather is expected to get worse so better not to take any chances with injury.

Reminder that several of you haven't responded on the Sunday 10th Jan "5" a side at the Oasis Leisure Centre.

Please confirm attendance and if so the food order:

-Chicken Nuggets
-Burger
-Cheese Burger
-Vegi Sausage
-Hot Dog

Please pass onto the boys how proud I am of them, who would have thought that 2009 would have brought us the Sportsmanship Award beating over 370 teams and we would end the year at the top of the league.

More important than the league position is the performance and attitude of the boys where we have made a huge improvement.

A fantastic year.

All the best for Christmas, thanks for your support and I look forward to what should be an exciting second half of the season.

20th December 09 - Kingshill v Wanborough U14's

Please note details for next week, meet at 9.55 for 10.30 kick off.

I suggest you allow 25 mins to get to the ground.

Squad members missing this game are Joe, Ryan, Chris T and James.

Directions from the Kingshill Coach are:

" We are near Cirencester town football ground.  Kingshill school is the
 second turning after Cirencester ground.

If you come down the A 419 turn off for ciren /siddington the swindon road, follow A 419 down to a roundabout which has road works,  take the 4th exit and head back to swindon there will be a turning on the left says Preston about 150 yards turn there follow that road up a hill you should see a big green dome that's cirencester ground keep going passed that and were on the left"

13th December 09 - Coaches View

Another good battling display which was needed today.

Positives

* We once again created good chances
* We played very well up the hill in the 2nd half, some good angled through passes.
* We kept our positions much better in defence

Learning Points

* There is an old saying, play to the whistle, we need to remember that, don't stop playing until you hear the whistle. We did that across the pitch several times today.
* We are still drifting too far up the field for goal kicks, we can't gamble in that situation, we need to defend first, win the ball and then attack.
* Midfield are effectively 1 v 1 against the other teams midfield, we need to ensure everyone is marking in midfield.

Parents player of the match - Bradley, excellent hat trick, showed good commitment winning the ball back for the team throughout the game.

Coaches player of the match - John, good tackling display and use of the ball.

Well done to Joe on his 50th appearence for the Club.
